She later taught Kinderdance to young children across the Bay Area and\, in graduate school\, discovered her love for Bollywood\, Bhangra\, and Bharatanatyam. Passionate about exploring diverse styles\, Katy finds dance to be a place of grounding\, joy\, and self-expression. \n \nAlisha Khatwani Dancing has been a passion of Alisha’s since she was young. Having spent most of her training learning Indian dance forms including Kathak\, Bollywood and Bhangra she enjoys spreading her joy of dancing with kids. Alisha has been teaching the Rangeela Rockstars dance program for over 2 years now and is excited to be teaching a new Bollywood dance number this season. We ask that all participants arrive 5 MINUTES prior to class. \n \nAbout Sarthak\nBorn and raised in Cali\, Sarthak started officially dancing 6 years ago\, and since has never stopped. He participated in his college dance team\, UC Irvine Zamana\, serving as Captain\, where he has learned and performed with a variety of styles from BollyFusion\, Bhangra\, Contemporary\, Hip-Hop\, Garba-Raas\, all the way to SemiClassical. During this time\, he and his team competed all over the country\, lighting up the stage from California to Pennsylvania\, even competing at Bollywood America 2019. After graduating from college\, he moved to Seattle where he has been with Rangeela for the past year\, pursuing his passion for dance through their various platforms. Sarthak’s achievements include several top 3 awards at national level collegiate dance competitions\, along with several productions with the Rangeela cast and crew.  \nAs a dancer\, Sarthak loves bringing out his filmy side with every style he does\, and strongly believes that the most important part of any dance venture is having fun and enjoying\, and he cannot wait to share this experience with all of you in this upcoming class! \nFun Fact: did you know that Sarthak was featured in sensational artist Tesher’s “Tesher Slide” music video and performed behind the super talented singer Raghav live for his hit song “Teri Baaton Me”??

All levels are welcome.\n\n\nLocation: Flow Fitness SLU\, 311 Terry Ave N\, Seattle\, WA 98109\nALL LEVELS WELCOME TO ATTEND!\nFollow us on https://www.instagram.com/rangeeladancecompany/ to stay up to date about the event! \nAbout Maheetha Bharadwaj:\nMaheetha Bharadwaj\, is a Urology resident at the University of Washington. She has always had a passion for dance\, and started taking ballet and bharathanatyam lessons when she was 5 years old. Soon\, under the tutelage of both Padmashri Adyar K. Lakshman and Srimathi Sudha Srinivasan\, she completed her arangetram when she was 10 years old\, and began performing in India yearly during the December music festivals in Chennai. \nOnce she joined Stanford University for undergrad\, she decided to explore her more American side. She joined Common Origins\, a non-competitive choreography dance team as well as Alliance Streetdance\, an audition exhibition dance team. She also co-founded XTRM Kpop Fusion\, Stanford’s first and only kpop fusion dance team. \nAfter college\, Maheetha continued to train by taking classes from Mike Da Genius\, Rob Bynes\, Tarikh Campbell\, and others in the industry. In New York\, she competed with Project D Dance Company\, and won second place at Elements 2018 and first place at Defining Rhythm. \nWhen she came to Boston\, Maheetha desired to create a space like many of the ones she saw in New York\, where Indian Americans could explore their body through movement while raising awareness about South Indian culture and music. She started teaching dance workshops with KuthuHop\, a dance org that aims to combine Kuthu with many different western-inspired styles. Till this date\, Kuthuhop has taught around 20 workshops since its inception in 2018. While medical school and residency have made it hard for Maheetha to be able to commit time to Kuthuhop\, she loves taking every moment she gets to dance and choreograph. Outside of KuthuHop\, Maheetha is a part of the medicine tiktok community. \nRecently\, Maheetha was also a part of Watchlist Dance Company\, and performed at Legends in April of 2022. She also taught a workshop with ChiTempo in Chicago. She’s really excited to teach at Rangeela Dance Company in Seattle! \n\nMeet Ahalya:\nAhalya started dancing as a child\, learning the fun and popular Bollywood dance moves at the time. This love for dance continued to grow and ultimately culminated in joining a competitive dance team in college. Ahalya led the University of Pennsylvania’s garba-raas team as choreography chair in her junior year\, and as captain in her senior year. Like most dancers\, she loves choreographing and performing\, but the one thing she loves most is teaching. Her favorite part about garba-raas is the contagious energy\, and how powerful the moves are. She has 4+ years of experience in choreography\, 2+ years of experience teaching\, and has been to several collegiate competitions in both the Raas circuit and Fusion circuit (as a guest dancer on Penn Dhamaka). Ahalya spends much of her free time at dance classes learning other styles like hip-hop\, Bollywood\, and South Indian. \n  \nPlease note: no refunds are accepted for this workshop

Dance has been a part of her life since she learned to walk. Coming from India & raised in Bombay\, she was exposed to Bollywood & various music & dance styles early on. She has performed as a background dancer for the Indian television awards show titled “Star Parivaar Awards – Year 2004’ & recently for the Netflix Productions’ Fame Game – a Bollywood movie starring Madhuri Dixit – Year 2022. Ever since childhood\, she has been performing at multiple stage shows in Mumbai\, and now at fashion shows & events in & around Los Angeles\, San Diego and participated in various dance gigs. \nAs a vibrant performer\, she enjoys performing at Bollywood Dance Recitals\, attending dance workshops\, learning expressive movements with trained techniques\, sharing dance space with other dancers & learning their art forms & dance styles. Through her performances\, she believes in sharing positive energy\, expressing stories\, emotions\, and spreading happiness while promoting mental well-being. She is currently training in Kathak from the Lucknow Gharaana in India.
