Ami Jani

Choreographer

Ami Jani started dance at the age of 4. She learned Indian folk and semi-classical with her mother’s dance company and also did ballet. Her love for dance has grown and expanded to many other forms including flamenco, lyrical, Kuchipudi, Kathak, and Bharatnatyam, in which she completed her Arangetram. Ami not only competed and choreographed with her mom’s dance company but also danced on the Bhangra and Bharatnatyam dance teams in college where she became choreographer her last two years. Ami has a minor in Ballet and was one of the founders of a dance, music, and yoga studio for 3 years after college. That love of dance continued as she travelled and lived in India working at a law firm but continuing Kathak and Bharatnatyam training in the evenings. Ami just recently moved to Seattle after graduating from law school and currently works as an attorney but is incredibly happy to be dancing again with a great group in her new home. Her puppy Mozzie enjoys watching her practice in their living room!
