Adult Workshops Instructor

Dance has been a part of my life from a young age of 7. Growing up, I trained in Bharatanatyam for close to 6 years. I have been a part of multiple stage performances in school and university. Although my training was primarily in
Indian classical dance, I have always been very enthusiastic about exploring dance forms from other parts of the world such as hip hop and contemporary. I was part of my college competitive hip-hop dance team where we trained and performed in various competitions. Needless to say, just like most Indian dancers, bollywood has also been a big part of my dance journey growing up.
However, I’m a South Indian at heart. I grew up in the southern part of India and have always loved and appreciated south Indian music and dance culture (you will notice that in some of my videos on my dance page).
After a brief break from dancing for a couple of years after graduation, I was able to get back to training once again. In the past couple of years, I had the opportunity to train in styles like hip-hop/jazz-funk from instructors that are closer
to the culture.
Dance has always been a major part of my life. I’m grateful for the training I was
able to pursue in multiple dance forms over the years. But ever since I moved to the US, I miss being a part of an Indian dance community. I’m super thrilled to be applying to be part of the RDC dance family. I know I have a long way to go in my
journey and I’m excited for this learning and growth opportunity.
