Yaman Kalyan Pattanaik

Yaman Kalyan Pattanaik is a Northeastern University graduate working as an IT functional consultant and a dedicated dancer in the Odissi Style.

Yaman has a charismatic personality filled with zestfulness and is an astounding Odissi and an Indo-Contemporary dancer. Her perception of dance and performance is unconventional. Since the age of 10, she has received many accolades for her contribution to the arts and has also performed around the globe. Although vehemently careful about preserving the basic structure and aesthetics of her beloved art form, Odissi, she has also been exploring other dance forms like Jazz, Contemporary, and Bollywood Fusion. Nevertheless, while performing classical dance, she feels deeply passionate, earthbound, and connected to her culture. The rhythm in her feet connects her to a divine force. The perfect blend of Bhava, Tribhangis, Taala, and Abinaya radiates from her performances.

She had her training and nurturing of Odissi dance for over 15 years, under the guidance of Guru Smt. P Sudha at the Sudha Institute of Odissi, Ahmedabad, India, who was a disciple of Padma Shri Guru Kumkum Mohanty. Her learning in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa was under the enlightenment of Guru Ramesh Chandra Jena from the Orissa Dance Academy. Currently, she has been practicing Odissi in Yorba Linda, CA under the direction of Guru Smt. Sharanya Mukhopadhyay at Ishwara Dance Academy.
